I need to buy a kitchen table and I have really dark walnut floor. Most popular tables are dark cherry in color or darker in nature. This will not look good as there will not be any contrast. Anyone have pictures of your setup with a dark/walnut floor? White table? Glass Table? Etc?

What color furniture would look best for a kitchen table?
I heard you can mix 3 colors of wood in a room-is this correct? Our floor is light maple hardwood, our walls are creme, we have a dark navy couch, and a brown colored coffee table. What can you do to safely clean a wood kitchen table?
Our kitchen table is pretty new, only a couple months old. We have a two year old and well he's a messy eater (like all little kids), LOL. What can I do to safely clean the kitchen table? It's made of a very nice mahogany wood and I want to keep it looking nice. Short of using furniture polish every day, what can I do for a quick clean in between polishings? How would I put a finish on this maple wood kitchen table?
I have a maple wood kitchen table with a shiny smooth finish that allows for hot and cold items placed on it and not leave a burn mark. The table is 27 years old, the same as me. A hand me down. The finish on the table top lately seems to be peeling. I am assuming due to the aging of the wood and finish. How would I re-coat it to look new again? Would I have to sand it down or what would be the process?
