Does anyone know how to determine the alcohol content of wine using distillation?
I'm doing a year 12 chemistry prac and we want to measure the alcohol content of different wine samples. We don't know the specific gravity and can't use a hydrometer, so any links to a reliable source detailing a method would be great.

How do you age a sample of liquid effluent?
I have to age a liquid effluent sample from a food processing plant but i am not sure how. What I think is that I have to age it like wine by storing it in room temperature. I want to make it clear that aging is different from storing it. This is about an undergraduate research and I really need to know the answer. Pls send me some credible resources if you have any.

Is there a bar that offers a wine sampler like some breweries do?
I am not looking for a "wine tasting". I am looking for the equivilant of what some breweries do when you can get about six different small glasses of beer to try. I am not looking for free samples, but a variety of wines to sample. I know I have to pay for it.

anyone know of any good adelaide wine tours? 10 pts best answer...?
I want to go on a wine tour with 5 or 6 friends. Do you know of any good ones? I heard the barossa ones are the best. I want one that will allow us to drink on the bus, is thats more about sampling all the different wines and getting pissed rather than listening to history and crap, and will allow just the 5 or 6 of us (alot of wine tours have a 10ppl minimum). Any ideas?

Where can I get Mallorcan wine in America?
My wife and I went to Mallorca for our honeymoon. While there we sampled a number of wines from the Binissalem district; Macia Batle, Jose Ferrer, and so on. They were SO different from anything else we'd tried in Europe or the States, but I couldn't even find these wines in Madrid or in Berlin (Galerie Lafayette, KDW, no luck!). Is there anywhere that I can find some of these wines here in the US?

Whats the all-around best wine glass?
I went wine glass shopping the other day to buy wine glasses. There are different glasses for Shiraz, zin's, cabernet's etc. Each wine pretty much has it's own glass and they all almost look the same. Any wine connossieur's out there that can tell me one or two general wine glasses that would be good for sampling and drinking?

Do you think this is a good idea for a business?
I am creating a business plan for a project in one of my management classes. My idea is a wine store. In this store, there would be both domestic and imported wines from around the world. So, my goal would be to offer a greater selection than the average beer/wine store offers. Also, in this store, I can include things that go well with wine such as different cheeses (there are many) and fruits, a huge selection of accessories, as well as a wine gift selection, and equipment rental. I can offer occasional wine sampling, too.... So, it would be more like a one-stop wine outlet store that offers things for many people and occasions. Do you think if the location is right, the business would work? Thanks! Thanks for the input and the helpful advice! I think it is a creative idea. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be a successful business if it is in the right location..
