Are pendant lights okay in a small kitchen with no table and no island? I am remodeling my kitchen and not sure on the lighting. It is a fairly small kitchen with no island or table. I am thinking of doing recessed can lights but also would like something decorative in the center of the room. I like the pendant lights but don't know if they will okay not hanging over a counter, island or table.

Should you have a kitchen table in a very small kitchen?
My kitchen is about 9ft by 6ft. rectangle shaped. The kitchen sink and cabinets are along one end of it and the kitchen door leading outside is on the other. I think we should get rid of the table and chairs and put a bar along the wall under the window. My husband thinks it would make our space problem worse. I think it would not only give us more room to cook on but we could sit at the bar to eat our meals. does any one agree with me?

How goofy & bacheloresque is it to have a desk in the kitchen of my house?
Currently, I live alone & the best place for me to have my "office" is in the kitchen. There's enough room for both a desk and a small kitchen table. I cook a lot, and being able to work/surf the web while I cook works real well for me. Any general thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Know where I might find a small rectangular kitchen table?
I currently have a 40" round table and four chairs in my dinette space but it is too wide and takes up too much room. The area I need the table and 4 chairs for is long and narrow. Most rectangular tables are at least 36" wide, which is too wide. I need something around 32". I would prefer something in black wood. I have shopped the internet and found one at Sears. Then I got a notice that it was out of stock and would not be in until May or June and I cannot wait that long. I think I have been to every link on the internet trying to find something but they are all too wide. If I have to, I could go with white or gray. I prefer at least the bottom cushion be padded, but it does not have to be. I also need two 24" Bar Stools. If Anyone has any idea where I could find this table, please let me know! I am desperate. Just remolded my kitchen and had no idea the table would be so hard to find. I would appreicate any help!
